Term-as-you-type – Many many languages – JIRA – OIDC
After quite a set of releases focusing mainly on repository maintenance and infrastructure, we are happy to now release a couple of user-focused improvements. Particularly the “Term-as-you-type” functionality, often also called auto-complete or quick search will improve the interaction with repository data to quite a degree.
Read more below, this has now been deployed.

Term as you type
… start typing a few letters into the Search field, and immediately see in a short dropdown box the matching terms. This is a pretty fast way to directly navigate to a known term. The lookup algorithm takes into account:
- The currently selected language. It only looks up terms from this index.
- Filter. If one or more filters are applied, then only these terms that pass a filter are suggested.
- Access control. Only these terms that are accessible for the logged-in user are suggested.

Working with Many Languages
Improved UX
… when working with many languages sometimes the dropdown box got so long that the available items did no longer fit onto the screen. This has been improved by making it a scrollable box.
Miscellaneous
Various complementary improvements also made it into this release.
- Feedback / Task list: Submit new repository feedback item via JIRA. Repositories can now be configured to log feedback items in well-known Atlassian JIRA. If so, via a link to JIRA a new ticket is opened and initialised with a) what JIRA project should be selected, and b) what concept in which repository is affected (including a backlink into the repository).
Thus, feedback items from Coreon are then also tracked in an enterprise’s central
JIRA instance. - Dashboard Access Control: Previously, the dashboard was restricted to accounts with a repository “Manager” role. Now, the dashboard respects configured access rights, allowing more flexibility in defining user roles and their permissions. The enhanced access control system allows for better role management and more granular permissions. For example, you can now create a role that enables users to export repositories without giving them the ability to reconfigure repositories, which continues to be restricted to accounts with a Manager role.
- Support OIDC Protocol for Single Sign-On (SSO) Authentication: In an effort to enhance security and user experience, Coreon now provides Open ID Connect (OIDC) protocol support alongside its existing Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML2) protocol functionality.
Microsoft Entra ID, for instance, already supports OIDC. - Improved Import Capability: To better address the growing need for larger file sizes, Coreon has updated its maximum file size limit for import uploads. This is now configurable upon request. Previously, some import files (particularly those with embedded images) exceeded the allowed limit set by our web servers (default is 600 MB, before unpacking).
- Export Jobs: Reduced the time range to keep files. More and more we see many many export jobs being created, thus many export job files are stored on Coreon’s servers. Up to now – unless tagged to be kept – export job files have been removed after four weeks. This has now been reduced to two weeks (to release hard disk space earlier).
- Export PDF generation. With the last release (December 2024) a new PDF rendering engine had been released. In some cases with large HTML files the PDF generation failed. This has been resolved.
