Various Server Improvements.

Various Server Improvements

We have just deployed a couple of improvements to our servers. These are mainly underlying changes to prepare a significant performance update in a couple days. Today’s update should not have an effect on your everyday activities. This is just to keep you in the loop that we deployed a couple ofchanges.

Miscellaneous Server Improvements

This is mainly a “heads up” information on a significant performance improvement we are currently working on:

  • Search, Recognize Terms, TermList queries: We have enriched the API and the underlying query processing engine to facilitate significant performance improvements for any kind of client applications.

This is – today – nothing but a preparatory step to allow various client applications (i.e. Coreon’s standard browser UI, but also Trados Studioand memoQ plug-ins) to benefit soon from way faster responses. Beta tests promise improvements of up to 30 (!) times faster.
Besides this preparatory step, the update includes two improvements:

  • Coreon XML Schema (XSD) fix: When exporting the configuration ofa repository then picklist values containing a dot (i.e. “.”, such as in a product code like Microsoft Windows 10.x) triggered a validation error against the XML Schema. This has been fixed.
  • Access Control: Assume you have a role configured to allow access to only some concepts but not all of them (by a status value such as “Public” vs “Confidential”) and then when a root concept was not accessible, the concept map did not load. This has been resolved.
