Term List: Significant Performance Improvement

The request-response interaction between the Term List widget and the repository servers has been reworked. Particularly when working with more than only one, first language, column, then the performance of the Term List is dramatically better. This has also an impact on the overall performance of the Coreon UI, since whenever navigating to another concept, running a search etc. the Term List gets refreshed. So the overall UI response is way better now.

Restructuring the Concept Map: “Promote Me”

How to fast make a node the parent of all its siblings

Imagine you are working in a concept map that is “still relatively flat”, i.e. you see many siblings and not yet a deep hierarchical structure, maybe as the result of a data conversion from a foreign system that does not support the management of concept relations, of taxonomical structures.
And then you browse through a set of, say, 100 siblings … and you spot one of these 100 nodes to actually be the hyperonym, the broader concept of all its other sibling nodes … how to make that node the broader concept of all its siblings? Up to now you would have moved one sibling after the next underneath that “upcoming” broader concept, i.e. some 99 “Move-node” actions … a bit tedious.
Therefore, we’ve now added a shortcut for that operation, we call it Promote Me. With this shortcut you can with one single mouse click promote the node and move all the other nodes as its future narrower concepts.
How to? Maximize the concept map, start its editing mode: then right click the to-be-promoted concept node.
